Urban Process Automation

Most bridges do not function optimally: looking at road and water traffic flow, they open or close at the wrong moments and dis-function without warning. These errors cost traffic companies and governmental organisations a lot of money every year and it’s not clear why this dis-functioning occurs.

The cause of these problems is often a process automation related matter, which can be found by proper analysis of the data that comes out of a bridge. Often these problems can be (partially) solved by rewriting the software. Also predictive functionalities can be added to the SCADA system that is connected to the bridge. By using special algorithms, trends can be seen in the data which can predict when maintenance is needed or when errors will occur. This software enables the prevention of errors which results in cost- and (down)time reduction. The owner can manage its assets more efficient so more time is left for other matters.
