Waterakkers

Waterakkers is a run-off and storm water storage system of 15 acres containing a constructed wetland with big helophyte filters. The system functions completely automatic.

The digital version of the area is undergoing a transition now to “Smart Waterakkers” where all data from the area and surroundings is being linked. Think of data from surrounding ponds, rain sensors, but also social media data about the experience of the residents and visitors.

This data is then used for predictive maintenance and predictive control of the water system, for steering as well as maintenance purposes.
